our staff

Mark graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University where he served in numerous ministry and student leadership roles. He began his career with training in business administration, public relations, marketing, mental health counseling and substance abuse counseling.  Mark began serving at Real Life Children's Ranch  in 1994 by providing mental health and substance abuse services for children and families.  Due to funding cuts Mark had to later reduce his services at the Ranch.  God redirected his career to include clinical supervision; consulting for mental health and substance abuse programs and program administration.  In 2007 Mark became the Executive Director of Real Life Children's Ranch.  Mark is thankful for his two children Hannah and Noah and for parents that instilled in him Godly wisdom that has proven so helpful in his ministry at the Ranch. Mark is also thankful to serve alongside the Ranch staff to help children who have been abused, abandoned and neglected rebuild their lives and reach their God given potential.

  • cesar and carolyn marin

Years before Professional Parents, Cesar and Carolyn, came to the Ranch, they knew they were being called. God prepared them for this ministry long before they arrived. Cesar was a leader of a men’s ministry that mentored other men, teaching them core Christian values of such as integrity, Godly character and servant leadership. Cesar was also the praise team leader at their church for nine years. Carolyn has felt a calling toward and worked with children since she was a child. She has led children’s church and the nursery at her church. Today they are fulfilling their dream of ministering together with two of their five children, Jared and Isabella as they pour into the lives of children, loving, teaching and directing them towards Christ so that they may know their true identity and be freed from the bondage of their past.

Prior to coming to Real Life Children's Ranch Mark and Michelle both worked for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.  They were praying for an opportunity to work with children (especially boys) as they both knew that God called them to do so.  After moving from Okeechobee to the south Florida area Mark and Michelle sensed that God was preparing them for a drastic life change and calling into a ministry that would include their whole family.  They were not sure how they how or when this would happen, but in faith they trusted God to fulfill this call.  Through this process they moved back to Okeechobee and became aware of Real Life Children's Ranch.  Soon after learning of the Ranch they were informed that Ranch was seeking a new house parent couple to serve in one of the  boys homes.  Almost immediately Mark and Michelle visited the Ranch and saw God's plan revealed for their family to minister to children in need.  Today Mark and Michelle, along with their daughters Hannah, Riley and Isabella, together with their dogs, cats and goats, minister and love on a daily basis to boys at the Ranch in need of a loving family.

  • Trevor and kristin O'dell

Before heading to the ranch, Kristin served full-time as the Youth & Children’s Pastor at High Point Church in Red Bluff, California. Trevor worked full-time as the maintenance man at the church (in addition to helping run both ministries). Kristin grew up involved in ministry and knew as a teenager that she was called to youth and the mission of “loving the unlovable”. Trevor heavily involved himself in ministry after getting to know (and eventually marry) Kristin, and knew he was called to jump in with her. After a few years of doing ministry together, they felt called to dive deeper into students' lives to help them for more than just a of couple hours a week at a church service. They had no idea what that meant, or where God was leading them. As they prayed, they began searching for missionary jobs throughout the states, and house parenting was one of the first things that popped up. They didn’t have to search long to realize that this was exactly where God was leading them. Out of hundreds of locations hiring house parents, Real Life seemed like the best fit. God opened doors that seemed impossible to unlock, and so they traveled across the country with all the essentials they could fit into their Prius. They love having the opportunity to love on the kids 24/7 and strive to live as examples of Jesus in all they say and do. Trevor, Kristin, and Toby (their incredibly adorable wiener dog) love the ranch and look forward to many more years here!
