WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

Many generous individuals donate their time and talent every year to assist Real Life Children´s Ranch in providing outstanding care and services to children and families. Please consider joining our dedicated volunteers. Volunteer opportunities at Real Life Children’s Ranch include but are not limited to: Mentoring, Tutoring, Construction and Maintenance, Grounds keeping and Landscaping, Food Preparation, Yard Sale Workers and Professional Services. Regardless of age or experience, we can use individuals and groups who are interested in helping us help children.

Mentoring

A volunteer who mentors a child at Real Life Children’s Ranch will work one-on-one with a child. They will commit to calling the child at least once a week. In addition, they will take him or her on a meaningful outing at least once a week.

Tutoring

A volunteer who provides one-on-one tutoring works with children at our campus. They commit to come to Real Life Children’s Ranch at least once a week in order to help children with academic needs. We request that our tutors commitment to tutoring for at least one full school year.

Construction and Maintenance

Real Life Children’s Ranch is a large campus with over 30 acres of property. In addition, we have numerous homes and structures built to help care for children. We are always in need of people with construction and maintenance experience in areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting, etc. to maintain and expand our campus.

Grounds Keeping and Landscaping

Whether you are an individual or part of a group, Real Life Children’s Ranch needs help to maintain our grounds and landscaping. In order to maintain our grounds we need volunteers who help us with landscape projects such as weeding, mulching, pruning, etc. A large covered picnic area and modern facilities offer the perfect setting for volunteer work groups such as church youth groups and service organizations.

Food Preparation

The professional parents in each home prepare meals daily for our children. Volunteers are needed to assist the professional parents in preparing these meals. In most cases, our homes have approximately eight children and two adults. Each home is equipped with modern kitchen appliances and utensils.

Yard Sale Workers

Real Life Children’s Ranch has an established thrift store type building. Donations to this ministry are organized and sold in order to raise money for the children in our care to participate in summer vacations and other activities. Volunteers are needed to organize donations and staff the thrift store.

Professional Services

Real Life Children’s Ranch has numerous opportunities for people wishing to donate professional services. Professional services include but are not limited to fundraising, legal counsel, filing, managing computer systems and public relations.
